Irises
Vincent van Gogh painted this still life of irises in 1890. The flowers spread across a wide canvas, with blue-violet petals, green stems, and a light ground creating a rhythm of bent and upright forms. The Metropolitan Museum of Art records the work as oil on canvas and credits it as the Gift of Adele R. Levy, 1958.
